Collection: John Petschinger

John Petschinger's works captivate on the one hand with their colorfulness and on the other hand with their expressiveness. High-contrast traces of color determine the strong style of the young artist, who lives and works in Austria. Petschinger's approach is technically complex. He combines collage with acrylic on metal plates that form the basis of his paintings and completes the effect of the colorful representations with a resin finish. Shiny surfaces characterize his work, in which a certain feature is repeatedly inscribed: a stylized white flower with six petals and a yellow pistil can be found in all his works. Similar to a symbolic signature, this floral element runs through the artist's work and stands as a figurative element in an exciting dialectic with the otherwise expressive-abstract pictorial world.
